This program provides a cash grant up to $3,000 as an incentive to qualifying CEA policyholders. Once retrofit is complete, participants may qualify for up to a 25 percent discount on their insurance policy (after July 1, 2019).

Policyholders hiring a contractor for their CEA BB retrofit may hire from the Contractor Directory. To be on the Contractor Directory and have access to free marketing materials, take the free online FEMA training provided.

Building Officials

Building departments play a critical role in the success of Brace + Bolt Programs. They must issue a final permit  that states the  retrofit was done in accordance with  Chapter A3 or an approved standard plan set.

Licensed Design Professional

CEA BB was created to provide incentives to Qualifying CEA Policyholders to seismically retrofit wood-frame older residential structures with raised foundations. An engineered solution is required for some retrofits.
